Ania Gheyara, MD, PhD, is a board-certified neuropathologist and anatomic pathologist with over 25 years of experience. In 2017, Dr. Gheyara founded Satori Biomedics, Inc., and has been working on research and clinical projects with various leading biotechnology firms. Dr. Gheyara previously led translational research on Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, and other neuropathologic conditions at the Gladstone Institute of Neurological Disease and the University of California, San Francisco, where she completed her residency and fellowship training. She has been awarded multiple research grants from the NIH and has published several first author papers. Dr. Gheyara obtained her combined MD and PhD degrees in molecular biology from UCLA Medical School, where she was part of the distinguished Medical Scientist Training Program. In addition to being a physician and scientist, Dr. Gheyara is also a mixed-media artist and her works have been displayed at several galleries in California.
